Drought Continues
Over half the state is still experiencing a drought even after the much-needed rainfall yesterday. Record rainfall closed major roads, portions of I-70, and led to water rescues and evacuations.
Mexico, St. Louis, and St. Charles saw severe flooding but not all areas got heavy rain.
The severely drought stricken areas farther south would need to see four or five inches of rain to approach normal levels. However, rain falling in the severe drought areas and in the Columbia/Jefferson City areas is expected to improve things.
