KWWR Sports Report 8/2/22
The first day of Fall camp yesterday for the Missouri football Tigers.
It came with some bad news as head coach Eli Drinkwitz revealed that transfer center, Bence Polger, has been ruled ineligible for this season. Polger was expected to vie for the starting center spot alongside redshirt freshman Conner Tollison.

Badly in need of a starting pitcher, the St. Louis Cardinals closed a deal to acquire 33-year-old, left-hander, Jose Quintana from the Pittburgh Pirates. Included in the trade was right-handed reliever Chris Stratton.
Quintana is enjoying a bounce back season for the Pirates.
The Pirates are to receive right-handed pitcher Johan Oviedo and minor league infielder Malcom Nunez.
The Cards also announced that they have designated catcher Austin Romine for assignment.

Last night the Royals held on to beat the Chicago White Sox, 2-1.
Kansas City got solo home runs from Whit Merrifield and Salvador Perez.
