Boone County 911 Response May Be Slower Than Expected

Staffing shortages may delay 911 responses in Boone County. Boone County Joint Communications (BCJC) aims to answer 911 calls within 15 seconds but they currently have just 54% of their budgeted staff, which translates to 28 vacancies, adding precious second of wait time to those in need of help.

This is a national problem according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).
