Pujols “the Machine” wound up again last night and hit career homer No. 693, Jordan Montgomery let just one hit slide through and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs 1-0 last night.

St. Louis is in Chicago for a doubleheader today. First game at 1:20, Cards Adam Wainwright starting against the Cubs Javier Assad.

This evening’s game time is 7:05pm and matches up Jake Woodford for St. Louis and Adrian Sampson for the Cubs.

Last night, a bases-loaded walk on Drew Waters broke an eight-inning tie, helping the Kansas City Royals to a 6-4 win over the Chicago White Sox.

In Kansas City tonight, the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Royals at 7:10pm. Starting pitchers are Diamondback Zach Davies vs Royals Jonathan Heasley.
