Paul Goldschmidt hit two homers last night placing himself in the Triple Crown discussion, helping the St. Louis Cardinals bounce the Chicago Cubs 8-3.

The Cards still dominated, even without slugger Nolan Arenado, who was in St. Louis to attend the birth of his first child, and neither Albert Pujols nor Yadier Molina were in the lineup in their final visit to Wrigley Field.

The Royals had the night off.

The Atlanta Braves are in St. Louis tonight at 7:15. Right handed Spencer Strider vs Cards left-handed pitcher, Jose Quintana.

The Padres meet the Royals in KC at 7:10. Joe Musgrove for San Diego vs Royals’ Kris Bubic.
