Jefferson City School Bus Mishap Injures Nine Volleyball Players
Yesterday afternoon, a Jefferson City school bus getting ready to transport a volleyball team rolled downhill into a parking lot, injuring 9 young ladies.
The bus was parked outside Jefferson City High School on Union Street. The driver exited the bus and entered the building and students began to board in his absence. For currently unknown reasons, the bus began to roll backwards, ran off the road, struck a sign, then an electric pole, and on to a lower before hitting a parked car, a concrete retaining wall and came to a stop against a dumpster.
Four students were taken to a local hospital by EMS, 3 by private transport, and two were treated and released at the scene.
