MoDOT Announces Timing on Highway 19 Bridge Over I-70
The replacement of the Highway 19 bridge over I-70 in Montgomery County could begin as early as next week.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the new bridge will be constructed just west of the existing bridge and will also include the interchange improvements in the form of two roundabouts, one on each end of the bridge.
During the course of construction, each roundabout will be built one half at a time to minimize traffic impacts.
No significant closures are scheduled until the spring and summer of 2023 with all six stages of construction expected to be complete in the winter of 2023.
The first phase of construction will include building the substructure of the new bridge, tree removal, grading, and installation of temporary pavement needed to manage traffic flow in later stages of construction.
