Missouri Secretary of State Releases Unofficial Results for State Races

Voters in Missouri make their decision known in the mid term elections yesterday (Tuesday).

In statewide races, Eric Schmitt will be Missouri’s newest U.S. Senator, picking up 55.4 percent of the vote.

Scott Fitzpatrick was the choice of the people for State Auditor with nearly 60% of the votes cast.

Sam Graves will represent District 6 in the U.S. House of Representatives with 70% of the votes cast.

Cindy O’Laughlin defeated former Mexico Mayor Dr. Ayanna Shivers to represent District 18 in the State Senate with 75 percent of the votes.

Voters voted down Amendment 1 that would have allowed the General Assembly to override the current restrictions on investments made by the State Treasurer.

Amendments 4 and 5 regarding police funding and creating the Missouri Department of the National Guard both passed overwhelmingly.

Amendment 3, legalizing recreational marijuana passed, but by just over 127,000 votes out of over 2 million cast.
