New Owner for Former A. P. Green Refractory Site In Mexico
As of last Friday, December 30th, the City of Mexico is no longer the owner of the former A.P. Green Refractory site.
According to City Manager Bruce Slagle, the city closed on the property for $1.2 million that satisfies the Neighborhood Improvement District bonds the city had on the property.
The purchaser is Georgia-based Dealer Cabinetry Depot LLC, a supplier of kitchen cabinets to big-box home improvement stores.
They will build a facility on the site and develop the rest of the property into an industrial park with multiple sized lots to accommodate other industries wishing to bring business to Mexico.
Additionally, the new owner is looking to remove the remaining structures on the property.
The industrial park may give a nod to the history of the property according to Slagle.
The new owner of the property is working on a site plan for the city to review.
