Black History Month Events Underway In Mexico
A number of events are going on this month in Mexico for Black History Month.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Anointed Lifesaving Ministries is sponsoring the second annual Game Night featuring Jeopardy, UNO and other favorites starting at 4:00 in the afternoon and next Saturday the 18th, it’s a movie night featuring the Great Debaters which is based on a true story.
Both of those events are at Ty-Land on the south side of the Mexico Square.
The month wraps up with the first ever Black Elegance Gala, a red-carpet affair honoring local Black History figures who’ve served the community for years.
The Gala is Saturday night, February 25 from 5:30 until 11:00 at the Mexico VFW Post at 2100 North Jefferson.
Anyone with questions or wanting tickets to the Gala is asked to call Event Coordinator Vivian Gould at 573-581-8772.
