KWWR Sports Report 3/9/23

In the first round of the SEC tournament yesterday, number 13 Ole Miss pulled off a win over #12 South Carolina 67 – 61 and #14 LSU upset #11 Georgia 72 – 69.

Action continues today as number 8 Florida takes on #9 Mississippi State at Noon, fifth-ranked Tennessee takes on Ole Miss at 2:00, #7 Auburn gets #10 Arkansas at 6:00 and the nightcap pits #6 Vandy against #14 LSU at 8:00.

Mizzou wrestling sends 10 to the NCAA Championship, nine by automatic beds after seeding was released.

Reigning national champion Keegan O’Toole is the number 2 seed followed by Rocky Elam at number 3.

The number 6 seed is redshirt junior Brock Mauller followed by Peyton Mocco at number 7, Allan Hart at number 8, and Zach Elam at number 10.

Automatic bids went to Noah Surtin, Colton Hawks, and Connor Brown.

Senior Jarrett Jacques received an at-large bid and enters his fifth NCAA Tournament as the number 17 seed.

In spring training yesterday, the Cards blanked the Yankees 4 – 0 and the Royals pounded the White Sox 14 – 5.  They both have today off.

The Blues are in action at Enterprise Center in St. Louis tonight hosting the San Jose Sharks at 7:00.
