Boone County Fire Protection Districts Asks Voters For No Tax Increase Bond Issue

Voters in the Boone County Fire Protection District will see a bond issue for the district on the April 4th ballot.

The no tax increase bond issue would allow the district to issue eight million dollars worth of bonds to acquire real property, construct, renovate and furnish new fire stations and acquire new fire apparatus.

Two million dollars would be allocated for purchasing a new engine and two tankers, a million dollars would be spent on equipment such as thermal imaging cameras and battery-operated extrication equipment while the remaining five million would be used to design and build a replacement station for station 8 on Route K.

Last year the fire district responded to 4,225 calls with 1,234 being fire related and the rest medical, rescue, or motor vehicle accidents.
