Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Releases New Details on Fatal Motorcycle Pursuit
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is releasing new details about a fatal motorcycle pursuit that went through Montgomery County on Thursday afternoon.
According to a new release from yesterday (Friday), a sheriff’s deputy spotted a motorcycle breaking several traffic laws at the intersection of North Walker Street and Seventh Street.
After the deputy tried to pull over the motorcycle, the department says the motorcycle fled and drove away at a high rate of speed on Highway 19.
When the motorcycle reached the Highway 19 and Industrial Drive junction, the driver hit a vehicle headed north.
The driver of the motorcycle was identified by investigators as 29-year-old Kyle J. Barnes of Truxton, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation into the crash at the request of the sheriff’s office.
