Mexico Bulldogs Baseball Knocks Out Moberly Spartans In Round One of Districts

The Mexico Bulldogs baseball team scored early and often to blow past the Moberly Spartans in an 11-1 run-rule victory in round 1 in Districts in high school baseball yesterday (Saturday).

Mexico notched five runs in the fourth inning. Drew DeMint, Landon Hilderman, Austin Maxwell, Landyn Kleinsorge, and Jack Wilburn powered the big inning with RBI’s.

In total Mexico had 18 hits in the game. Kleinsorge, Maxwell, Matt McCurdy, Demint, Wilburn, Hilderman, Tyler Thoenen and Andrew Runge each racked up multiple hits to lead their team to victory.

Mexico was also sure-handed in the field and did not commit a single error.

Kleinsorge was the starting pitcher for the Bulldogs and lasted five innings and striking out one.

This was the first-ever District win for the Mexico seniors.

Up next Mexico faces Hallsville in round two of Districts on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 5pm.
