Fulton Man Indicted on Charges of Statutory Sodomy

A public grand jury in Callaway County has indicted a Fulton man charged with statutory sodomy and attempting to tamper with a victim.

The indictment was issued on Tuesday.

According to court records a woman spoke with Callaway County investigators about an incident involving her 10-year-old child on March 16.

The woman said 71-year-old Michael Nichols, touched her child inappropriately at his house in the 600 block of Westview Street in Fulton.

Nichols was charged last month and booked into the Callaway County Jail until he posted bond.

At a hearing on July 13, Nichols entered a plea of not guilty.

An arraignment is scheduled for August 7th.
