Madison Man Charged With Second-Degree Murder After Human Remains Found in Monroe County Pond
An arrest has been made after human remains were found during a search for a missing Monroe County woman yesterday (Friday).
Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of a rural Monroe County pond, in connection with the investigation into the 2021 disappearance of Betty L. Hayes of Holliday.
Just before 3pm yesterday (Friday), members of the Missouri Highway Patrol Dive Team recovered human remains from the pond.
An autopsy of the remains is pending. 65-year-old Lyle L. Miller, of Madison, was arrested in connection to Hayes’ disappearance.
The Montgomery County Prosecutor has formally charged Miller with second-degree murder.
