Columbia Teen Dies in Motorcycle Accident
A Columbia teen is dead after a motorcycle accident the night of Saturday, August 5, 2023 and another driver involved in the crash has been arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene.
According to an initial investigation by Columbia Police the accident happened when 18-year-old Walker D. Davis and another motorcycle were driving west on West Broadway when a hatchback reportedly driven by 23-year-old Elizabeth D. Lopez of Columbia pulled out in front of them.
Davis was thrown from his motorcycle, and the other motorcycle’s driver and passenger were also ejected in the crash.
The motorcycle drivers and passenger were taken to the hospital, and Davis died shortly after arrival according to Columbia Police.
The hatchback was located by police shortly after the accident, however the driver had reportedly fled, and Lopez was arrested yesterday (Sunday) as the suspected driver.
She has been taken to the Boone County Jail and is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in the death of another.
