Juveniles Detained in Mexico After Vehicle Stolen and Abandoned and Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins
Five juveniles in Mexico were detained after a number of vehicle break-ins during the early morning hours Thursday, August 17, 2023.
According to Mexico Public Safety an alert resident notified the department about some suspicious activity in the northwest part of town just before 3:30am.
Just after 4 yesterday morning officers learned of numerous vehicles that had been rummaged through in the north part of Mexico.
Items had been stolen from some of the vehicles and in one instance, the vehicle itself had been stolen and abandoned about 10 blocks away.
Starting around noon yesterday, five male juveniles, ages 12-16 were found and detained for their roles in the various incidents.
Two of the juveniles were taken into custody by the 12th Circuit Court-Juvenile Division and Division of Youth Services.
The others were released to their guardians for follow up with the Juvenile Office.
