Callaway County Sheriff’s Department Makes Two Arrests Related to Firearm Offenses

On September 3, 2023, at approximately 1:00 AM, deputies conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 54 near Fulton. During the stop, deputies noticed a Taurus pistol with a 33-round magazine in plain view inside the vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed that the firearm was fully loaded. The passenger of the vehicle, Dana Ware, was taken into custody and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felon in Possession).

Ware remains in the custody of the Callaway County Jail after a Judge denied bond.

On September 4, 2023, at approximately 1:50 AM, deputies responded to the 5000 block of County Road 123 following a reported disturbance involving a firearm. During the investigation, it was discovered that three firearms had been reported stolen earlier in the night to the Fulton Police Department.

While investigating the disturbance, deputies successfully located two of the three stolen firearms. Brandon Seay was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felon in Possession), Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Exhibiting) and Receiving Stolen Property (Felony). In addition, the Fulton Police Department requested charges against Seay for Burglary 1st and Stealing a Firearm (Felony).

It is important to note that Brandon Seay had previously been found guilty of the following felonies:

  • Callaway County Case Number 22CW-CR01688-01 – Tampering with Motor Vehicle 1st
  • Callaway County Case Number 23CW-CR00774-01 – Tampering with Motor Vehicle 1st

On May 15, 2023 Seay was sentenced to SIS probation. On August 22, 2023 Seay’s SIS probation was revoked and he was placed on SES probation and ordered into the Callaway County Drug/DWI Court program as part of his rehabilitation process.
