KWWR Sports Report 9/7/23
The Kansas City Chiefs open up the NFL season tonight (Thursday) when they host the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs are 5-point favorites despite missing key pieces including defensive tackle Chris Jones who is in the middle of a contract dispute, and tight end Travis Kelce who is listed as questionable for tonight’s game with a hyperextended knee.
Kickoff is at 7:20 and can be viewed on NBC.

The St. Louis Cardinals remained hot in Atlanta last night (Wednesday) with an 11-6 win over the Braves.
For a second consecutive game Redbirds sluggers hit four home runs against Atlanta.
Last night home runs came from the bats of Paul Goldschmidt, Wilson Contreras, Nolan Gorman and Mason Winn who hit his first major league homer.
St. Louis has now won three in a row.

The Kansas City Royals had their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 6-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox at the K.
