Mexico Public Safety Arrests Convicted Murderer

Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of a man convicted of First Degree Murder in 1984.

A Mexico Public Safety officer was on patrol close to Monroe/Western around 6:14 this morning (Wednesday) when 58-year-old Raymond K. Lassen was found in the storm water drainage area by the Family Video which has reportedly become an area where homeless people have been camping out.

Lassen was found to have warrants for a parole violation for not reporting to his parole officer.

He was arrested without incident and taken to the Audrain County Jail and then transferred to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Lassen, was convicted of First Degree Murder in 1984, for killing a man in the commission of a robbery in Greene County.

Lassen, who was 17 at the time, has since served his time for the murder and was released from prison.
