The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Baltimore Orioles 1-0 in Baltimore last night (Wednesday).

Richie Palacios provided the only offense in the game as he launched his 3rd home run in the last two games.

St. Louis ended up taking two out of three games from the Orioles and have the day off today before returning to Busch Stadium tomorrow night (Friday) to start a series with the Philadelphia Phillies.

In other Cardinal news, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright is planning to go out on a high note at Busch Stadium as his Major League Baseball career comes to an end.

Waino will be holding a live concert after the Cardinals’ game against the Cincinnati Reds on September 30th.

The performance will feature three original songs from Wainwright’s upcoming album, and will end with a fireworks display.

The following day, the Cardinals will be giving away 25,000 playable Adam Wainwright guitars.

The three-time All-Star sings and plays the guitar and is an aspiring country music star.

The Kansas City Royals beat the Chicago White Sox 7-1.
