Vandalia Woman Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Pursuit With Help Of Audrain County Sheriff’s Office K9 And Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Drone

The following press release was sent out by the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

During the afternoon hours of Monday, October 16, 2023, members of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a recently stolen vehicle along US Highway 54, west of Vandalia, Missouri.

The driver of the vehicle identified as Sherry Marie Pulley, age 45, of Vandalia, Missouri, failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.

During the pursuit, Pulley drove off the roadway and into a soybean field along Highway BB in Southeastern Audrain County where she subsequently abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled into a wooded area on foot.

Members of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Missouri State Highway Patrol set up a perimeter and a ground search commenced utilizing the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office Canine Jax and a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Drone.

During the search, Pulley was observed hiding in the woods by the Drone, which assisted in leading Canine Jax to the area where she was located.

Once in the area Canine Jax located Pulley who attempted to continue running through the woods.

Canine Jax was released to apprehend Pulley; however, was called off once Pulley exited the woods and surrendered to State Troopers on the perimeter.

Pulley was arrested and transported to the Audrain County Jail where she is being held pending formal charging decisions by the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
