Callaway County Prosecutor Dismisses Charges in Auxvasse Shooting Case
Charges against a Callaway County man accused in an Auxvasse shooting in July have been dismissed, according to reporting from KMIZ 17 and an email sent from Callaway County prosecutor Ben Miller.
34-year-old Damin Davis, was charged with first-degree assault, armed-criminal action, unlawful gun possession, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree domestic assault.
According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office a shooting happened on East Harrison Street in Auxvasse on July 2, just before 1pm.
Law enforcement searched around Callaway County July 2-3.
According to law enforcement Davis fled from the scene with his 10-year-old son in a black car.
The car was later found abandoned in the Stephens area, according to the sheriff.
The child was found safe on July 2.
Davis pleaded guilty on November 8th to second-degree property damage, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail and was given credit for time served.
Davis was also charged in Boone County in May with unlawful gun possession and two counts of third-degree domestic assault according to court records.
