Mexico Bulldogs Boys and Girls Basketball Teams Complete Regular Season Sweep of the Marshall Owls
The Mexico Bulldogs boys and girls varsity basketball teams took care of business on the road against the Marshall Owls on Monday, February 5th, 2024.
The Mexico Lady Bulldogs went back and forth with the Marshall Lady Owls all game.
It came down to the final seconds and Mexico’s Claire Hudson and Jordyn Thurman hit clutch free throws to secure the 43-39 victory.
Claire Hudson put up 19 points.
Grace Hudson finished the game with 10 points.
Mexico picked up their 10th win of the season and improved to 2-4 in the North Central Missouri Conference.
The Mexico Bulldogs boys bested the Marshall Owls 82-63.
Mexico trailed Marshall by five points in the first quarter.
Bulldogs senior DJ Long then took over the game and lit up the scoreboard with 27 points and a dunk.
PJ Perkins jammed and finished the game with 16 points.
Jaydon Eldridge recorded 14 points.
Kaden Benne reached double digit scoring with 12 points.
Mexico hit six three-pointers in total.
The Bulldogs improved their record to 20-2 and remained perfect in the North Central Missouri Conference at 6-0.
