The North Callaway Thunderbirds high school baseball team punched their ticket to the state quarterfinals after defeating Clark County 2-1 in Sectionals in Auxvasse on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Thunderbirds starting pitcher Keaton Bell threw a complete game and struck out seven batters.

North Callaway will face Duchesne in the quarterfinals.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Baltimore Orioles game at Busch Stadium ended without a conclusion after the game was suspended with the score tied at 1 in the middle of the sixth inning due to severe weather in the area on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The game will resume at 11:15am on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

The regularly scheduled series finale will begin 30 minutes following the completion of the first game.

The Kansas City Royals notched off their fifth consecutive series win with a 10-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers at the K on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Royals slugger Bobby Witt Jr. sent a baseball to a section of the Kauffman Stadium fountains few other hitters have reached.

Witt sent a three-run blast 468 feet, which landed in the water with an emphatic splash.

It was the third-longest home run by a Royal at the K behind Brandon Moss who hit a home run 417 feet in 2017.

At 31-19 the Royals have matched the 1976 club for the best start in franchise history through the season’s first 50 games.
