Over One Hundred Thousand Dollars Worth of Damages Estimated in Fulton House Fire
On Friday, September 6, 2024 at 9:02pm the Fulton Fire Department was called to respond to a reported Residential Structure Fire in the 1100 block of Donna Lane.
Central Callaway Fire Protection District was also dispatched for auto-aid response.
The first crew arrived 8 minutes later and found a split level, single family structure with flames and smoke showing from garage and garage roof of the structure.
The occupants were evacuated upon arrival of fire crews.
Fulton Police Department was on scene for crowd and traffic control.
Callaway County Ambulance District arrived on scene for a stand-by and firefighter rehab operations.
Fire crews began an aggressive interior fire attack and a primary search.
Primary search was completed and all clear.
Crews had water on the fire within a few minutes and reported fire in the attic.
Fire was brought under control within approximately 32 minutes.
Fire damages were estimated at $160,000.
Fulton Fire Department Fire Investigators conducted a fire cause and determination and listed the fire as undetermined.
A total of 4 Engines, and 12 fire personnel were on scene.
American Red Cross was called to assist occupants with personal needs.
The structure did not have working smoke detectors.
The occupants were wakened by the family dog.
The Fulton Fire Department reminds residents that smoke alarms save lives.
Smoke alarms should be placed on every level of your home and outside of places where people sleep.
Check your smoke alarms monthly by pressing the test button.
Change your smoke alarm batteries at least twice per year when adjusting your clocks for Daylight Saving Time.
Replace any smoke alarm over 10 years old.
No injuries were reported.
