The Missouri Tigers football team moved up three spots to Number 6 in the AP top 25 poll released Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The Tigers have become the first FBS team since 2019 to begin the year with a pair of shutout victories.
The Tigers opened up the season with a 51-0 win over Murray State.
Then Mizzou beat Buffalo on Saturday by a score of 38-0.
The Tigers defense is ranked number 1 in the nation in yards allowed per game, giving up 127 through two weeks.
Missouri welcomes in 2-0 Boston College to Columbia on Saturday.
The St. Louis Cardinals lost 10-4 to the Seattle Mariners in the series finale at Busch Stadium on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The Redbirds got down early and trailed 7-0 after two innings.
St. Louis dropped two of three in the series to the Mariners to dim their already slim playoff chances.
The Kansas City Royals completed a three game-series sweep over the Minnesota Twins with a 2-0 victory at the K on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Royals starting pitcher Michael Wacha picked up his 100th career win, making him just the 20th active pitcher to reach that milestone.
By sweeping the Twins, the Royals solidified a 2 1/2 game lead over Minnesota for second place in the American League Central, pulling within 2 1/2 games of the first-place Cleveland Guardians.
The Royals also lead by six games for a spot in the American League Wild Card.
