For the ninth time in his career, Paul Goldschmidt, 1st baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, has been named his team’s nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award.
The award is the annual recognition of a Major League player who best represents the game of Baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
The Kansas City Royals lost 10-4 to the New York Yankees on the road on Monday, September 9th, 2024.
Salvador Perez, the Royals nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award went 4-for-4 in the game and drove in three of the four runs against the Yankees.
The defending NFC champs San Francisco 49ers opened their season with a 32 – 19 win over the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
The 49ers spoiled Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers comeback party by beating him in his first game since tearing his left Achilles nearly one year ago.
