United Credit Union Donates Former Garfield School Building to C2C the Tyronn Lue Initiative
C2C the Tyronn Lue initiative has a place for a community center after a generous donation from the United Credit Union in Mexico.
The United Credit Union made the announcement during the 8th annual Tyronn Lue Day of Service on Friday, September 20, 2024.
United Credit Union CEO Brent Sadler said his service project for the Tyronn Lue Community Day of Service would be the donation of the Garfield building which was previously the Garfield School which was the first Negro School of Mexico, Mo.
The building sits next to Tyronn Lue Park in Mexico.
The C2C initiative created by current Los Angeles Clippers head coach and Mexico, Missouri native Tyronn Lue is a five-year commitment that has brought a multi-million dollar commitment to Mexico to support ongoing efforts to accelerate educational achievement and community development.
