KWWR Local Sports Report 10/8/2024
The Mexico High School girls softball team defeated Macon 5 – 1 in Mexico on Monday, October 8, 2024.
It was senior night for the Lady Bulldogs as Matty Tolbert, Kenley Jones, Kaylee Fish and Tayla Bruns were honored for their contributions to the program over the years.
Hannah Loyd collected on hit and provided an RBI.
Landri Teel also had an RBI.
Aleigha Henderson was 1-for-3 and had an RBI.
Keerstan Ewing pitched 5 innings and struck out 5 batters.
Aleigha Henderson pitched 2 innings and struck out 3 batters.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action for a North Central Missouri Conference road game at Hannibal on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
The Mexico High School girls volleyball team lost 3 – 0 to Centralia on Monday, October 7, 2024.
The Lady Bulldogs lost 25 – 22 in the first set, 25 – 10 in the second and 26 – 24 in the third and final set.
Jaclynn Cline had 7 kills and 3 aces.
Emily Moppin recorded 5 kills, and 3 aces.
Up next the Lady Bulldogs take a trip to Ashland to face Southern Boone on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
The Mexico High School Cross Country team traveled to Camdenton on Saturday, to compete in the Laker Invitational.
Mexico had four runners earn individual medals by placing in the top twenty-five in their race.
They included on boys varsity seniors Andrew Peuster and Hunter Bickell.
And girls varsity junior Maggie Ramsey.
Next up for the Bulldogs will be the NCMC Championships held at Green Estates on October 19, 2024.
