Fulton Police Arrest Man Claiming to be a Federal Law Enforcement Officer After Brief Standoff
The following press release was sent from the Fulton Police Department.
On 12/31/2024 at 12:45 pm, Fulton Police responded to the area of Rt Z and Bluff for a report of a subject that had removed a female from inside of her vehicle while claiming to be a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and showing a badge.
The subject fled and was located a short distance away.
When officers made contact with him he refused to obey commands to surrender.
A short stand off ensued and assistance from the Callaway County Sheriffs Office was requested.
They responded with their armored vehicle and the subject was eventually taken into custody after deployment of a less lethal projectile.
A firearm was also located in the suspects vehicle.
The subject was taken into custody for charges of Assault, Resisting a Lawful Detention, and Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
