The winter weather did not deter the opening day of the Sophie Cunningham Classic on Friday, January 10, 2025.

The Classic took place at the Southwell Complex in Columbia.

It is the third year of the event which is hosted by former Missouri and Rock Bridge standout Sophie Cunningham.

Checking some of the games the Rock Bridge girls fell 54-45 to Blue Valley North.

The Battle girls were bested 48-44 by Liberty North.

The California girls were victorious 56-52 over Doniphan.

The Tolton girls edged out Harrisburg 60-59.

University of Missouri men’s basketball will look to extend its homecourt winning streak when it hosts Vanderbilt at Mizzou Arena on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Tipoff is set for 2:30.

The finale of the first 12-team College Football Playoff is set.

The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-14 on Friday night in the Cotton Classic.

The Buckeyes will play Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Kickoff is set for 6:30.

NFL Wild Card Weekend gets underway today (Saturday) with two games on tap.

The first game pits the Los Angeles Chargers at the Houston Texans.

The game has a 3:30 start.

Then in the nightcap it will be the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Baltimore Ravens with a 7pm kickoff.
