Moberly Police Department’s Armored Vehicle Used in Arrest
Several law enforcement agencies responded to assist the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department for a report of a man who had multiple felony warrants and may be armed on Sunday, January 12, 2025.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of Moberly Police Department’s Armored Rescue Vehicle. Moberly officers and members of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department responded to the request and found the suspect parked in a field concealed near a tree line.
On arrival, drone footage indicated the location of the suspect vehicle which was about a quarter mile off the county road.
The Armored Rescue Vehicle was used to safely drive up close to the suspect vehicle, not allowing the vehicle to flee according to the news release.
Negotiators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department were able to establish communication with the suspect.
Eventually, less lethal munitions were used to safely arrest the man who received minor injuries and was evaluated at a local hospital.
