Mexico Man Charged With Child Sex Crimes in Callaway County
A Mexico, Missouri man is being held at the Callaway County Jail without bond after being arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a child for multiple years.
48-year-old Stephen Scott Kitchen was charged in Callaway County on 2/28/2025, with first-degree statutory rape of a child younger than 12 years old, statutory sodomy of a child younger than 12 years old and sexual misconduct involving a child younger than 15 years old.
According to the probable cause statement, deputies spoke with two witnesses and the victim on December 19th.
The statement says the witnesses saw the child victim wrote in their journal that Kitchen sexually assaulted them on multiple occasions.
The statement says the victim confirmed they wrote the entry and that it was true.
The statement reads the witnesses and the victim were interviewed again on January 8, and the victim detailed sexual assaults dating back to 2019 and said they were assaulted 13 or 14 times over the course of several years.
Kitchen was interviewed by Mexico Public Safety on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and claimed he used methamphetamine during that time period and would black out according to court documents.
