Thunderstorms With Hail Cause Damage and Power Outages Throughout Missouri
A line of severe thunderstorms rolled through mid-Missouri causing damage and outages during the evening hours of Friday, March 14, 2025.
A confirmed tornado hit Rolla shortly before 8.
Wind gusts reached 74 miles per hour in Jefferson City.
The Centralia High School reported a power outage yesterday (Friday) afternoon, however were able to continue classes.
Country 96 lost power around 8 last night. The power was restored around 20 minutes later.
Hail damage was reported to several homes and cars in the Mexico area.
The Camden County Commission declared a state of emergency after roughly 30 buildings were either damaged or destroyed.
Governor Mike Kehoe signed Executive Order 25-19 yesterday (Friday) declaring a State of Emergency in Missouri in anticipation of the severe weather throughout the state.
Under the Order, Missouri State Emergency Operations Plans was activated, which enabled state agencies to coordinate directly with local jurisdictions.
