Second Suspect Arrested in Connection to Shooting in Mexico
Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of Branden Truss in connection to a shooting that happened in Mexico during the evening hours of Saturday, march 15, 2025.
According to the press release from Mexico Public Safety, their department communicated and monitored associates of Branden Truss and worked with other area law enforcement agencies in an attempt to get him safely taken into custody.
On Monday, March 17, 2025, at around 6:15pm, Branden Truss turned himself in at the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office.
A 46-year-old Mexico man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a shooting on Saturday night.
Mexico Public Safety responded to the 200 block of South Alabama just before 10pm in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had been shot while in the front yard of a house, by people in a white Lincoln sedan.
Mexico Public Safety says this was part of a dispute which had been going on throughout the day at various locations.
Shortly after the shooting happened, a deputy with the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department stopped the suspect vehicle and 25-year-old Monterio M. Truss of Mexico was arrested.
According to the press release, 28-year-old Branden J. Truss of Mexico, ran from the traffic stop.
Mexico Public Safety is continuing the investigation in conjunction with the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
