Callaway County Sheriff’s Office Investigating After One Person Died in Shooting at Holts Summit Apartment Building

One person is dead and two people suffered injuries following a shooting in Holts Summit during the afternoon hours of Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Callaway County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported disturbance involving a firearm around 3:30 on Sunday afternoon at the Hunter Lane Apartments.

According to a press release from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies at the scene found three gunshot victims.

Two of them were taken by Callaway County EMS to local hospitals.

One of the shooting victims is deceased.

The Sheriff’s Office is treating this as a homicide investigation.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reports one person has been detained for questioning, and there is no threat to the community at this time.
