Storms Leave Damage Across Mid-Missouri

Heavy thunderstorms moved through mid-Missouri yesterday evening, leaving downed trees and power lines across the listening area. Severe thunderstorm warnings were frequent throughout the evening with 1/4 inch hail scattered across the listening area.

Power lines that started scattered fires were reported in Sedalia. A downed tree in Palmyra at the intersection of Hamilton and Dickerson left about 100 people without power.

Boone and Miller County appeared the hardest hit as far as number of people with over 1,300 people without power. Columbia in and of itself had 1,300 without power at 7:30 last night according to Columbia Power and Light. Nearly 70 customers were reported without power in Howard and Cooper counties.

Lewis and Saline were also hard-hit.

Flash flooding was reported in Boonville and Moberly.
