Montgomery County Sheriff Detains Suspect
A 43-year old Platte City man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly stole a white Ford F-150 from Overland Park, Kansas, on Monday.
According to a Facebook post from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies located the vehicle near Callaway County, and after being spotted the man fled the scene in the truck and a pursuit ensued.
Patrick W. McLane led deputies into Callaway County and then back to Montgomery County. During the pursuit, the man drove off-road on multiple fields in both counties, causing crop damage, according to the sheriff’s office.
The pursuit ended when the man lost control of the truck and nearly ran into the Loutre River in Montgomery County.
The man is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail for multiple violations.
