Eagle Bluffs Fire Ruled Accidental
State Fire Marshals have determined a fire that occurred last Thursday at the new Eagle Bluffs Elementary School on Sinclair Road was accidental.
In an email from Columbia Fire Department, it was announced the fire was accidentally caused by construction crews who were using hot torches near the HVAC unit on the roof.
All construction workers were able to get out of the building and no injuries were reported.
The new elementary school is still on track to open in 2026, according to Columbia Public School spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark.
