Sexton Arrested for DWI in Head-On Collision
A Fulton woman was arrested for a DWI on Saturday following a car accident where she drove on the wrong half of the highway.
37-year-old Rainie S. Sexton was arrested for traveling east in the westbound lanes of Highway 50, resulting in a head-on collision between Sexton’s Ford Fusion and a Honda CR-V.
The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while Sexton was treated at the scene.
Sexton’s blood alcohol content was allegedly 0.156% an hour after the crash, and she was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated Resulting in Physical Injury, Armed Criminal Action, Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Maintaining Financial Responsibility.
She is being held in the Cole County Jail without bond.
