Missing Four-Year-Old Recovered Safely

A missing four-year-old boy from California has been successfully located yesterday in Holts Summit after a police chase on Highway 54.

The chase begins in California where Stephen Curtner, and a 4 year old autistic juvenile had not been seen since 3:30pm on August 9th at their residence in California. The reporting party was the mother of the juvenile, Ms. Curtner.

A cell phone ping yesterday afternoon, located the suspect in Jefferson City.

At around 11:10am Sunday, the Holts Summit Police Department (HSPD) were notified that the Jefferson City Police Department (JCPD) were attempting to stop a vehicle. Holts Summit PD says the vehicle appeared to have crashed at the intersection of Simon Boulevard and South Summit Drive, but as HSPD officers arrived to assist, the vehicle attempted to flee again, reversing into a police vehicle.

Officers then coordinated efforts near the intersection of South Summit Drive and City Plaza Drive to stop the vehicle successfully.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody, and the missing child was successfully located safe inside the car with no known injuries.
