Jefferson City Crews Handle Fire at Modine Manufacturing
Jefferson City Fire Crews were dispatched to a commercial structure fire yesterday (Tuesday) morning at Modine Manufacturing Company on south Country Club Drive, in Jefferson City.
At about 11:20am, crews were dispatched and encountered moderate smoke coming from the west end of the large manufacturing facility. Firefighters quickly entered the building and determined that dust collectors in the manufacturing line had caught fire.
After accessing an elevated platform where the dust collector was housed, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it could spread.
Smoke from the incident filled portions of the building, requiring employees to remain outside for approximately 30 minutes while the structure was ventilated.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
