Columbia Police Arrest Two More for Murder

Columbia Police arrested 44-year-old David Adams and 37-year-old Julius Cureton, both of Columbia, yesterday in connection to a December 2017 robbery and homicide.

According to a news release, investigators said they believe the home invasion was drug-related and that the home was targeted by the suspects.

Adams and Cureton were each arrested on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to CPD.

Witness reports suggested three people wearing ski masks forced their way into Roberts’ home and shot and killed him. According to an affidavit from the DEA, Roberts was part of a drug trafficking conspiracy, and the three killed hum during a home invasion robbery where approximately 800 pounds of high-grade marijuana was stolen from a U-Haul truck parked in his driveway.

Former Columbia restaurant owner Jeffrey McWilliams, 32, was arrested in 2021 on charges including second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and armed criminal action.

McWilliams has court appearance scheduled for Sept. 2.
