Kingdom City Man Out on Bond for Other Vehicle Thefts, Arrested Again for Vehicle Theft and Burglary
On August 19, 2023, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report from a local farmer who stated that a Ford tractor, a front-end loader, and a car hauler with a combined value over $25,00 were stolen from his property near Kingdom City.
On August 23, 2023, deputies conducted a follow-up at a residence in the 4500 block of County Road 220. During the follow-up, deputies recovered the tractor, front-end loader, and trailer, along with other stolen items.
While searching the residence, Brenton Stith was located hiding inside and was arrested on the following felony charges:
- Burglary 2nd
- Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st
- Property Damage 1st
- Stealing $25,000 or more
Later in the same day, the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office charged Stith, and a Judge denied bail.
For reference, Stith is out on bond regarding a previous Sheriff’s Office investigation from May 2023, in which a stolen UTV, tilt trailer, and other stolen items were recovered from Stith’s property.
During this investigation, the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office charged Stith with the following charges, and he was ultimately released on a $25,000 bond (23CW-CR00635):
- Stealing (Felony)
- Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st
For reference, Stith has the following felony convictions:
- Boone County case number 11BA-CR01013-01: Receiving stolen property (Felony), sentenced to (5) years of supervised probation and ultimately sentenced to (5) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
- Callaway County case number 12CW-CR01579-01: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony), sentenced to (5) years of supervised probation and ultimately sentenced to (5) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
- Callaway County case number 15CW-CR01212-01: Forgery (Felony), sentenced to (5) years of supervised probation and ultimately sentenced to (5) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
