Public Meeting for Results of Audrain County Health Care Study to be Held at Audrain County Courthouse
The Audrain County Health Care Needs Assessment and Study committee will host a public meeting to release the results of a recent study done on the healthcare market in Audrain County. The meeting is slated to be held on Thursday, September 14th at 6pm at the Audrain County Courthouse Kevin Farnen Community Room.
“The committee engaged FORVIS Healthcare Consulting Group to assess the healthcare needs of Audrain County, which they have been doing for the past several months, and their results are now ready for release to the general public,” said Audrain County Presiding Commissioner Alan Winders.
The healthcare committee was formed by leaders of the Audrain County Health Department (ACHD), the City of Mexico and the Audrain County Commission earlier in 2023 to look at healthcare in the county and what type of healthcare system the market will most likely support after the closure of Noble Community Hospital in March 2022.
The FORVIS team will be on hand at the meeting to present an overview of their study of the Audrain County market and what it found.
“Findings from the study were based on community needs and market demand for sustainable healthcare services,” stated ACHD Administrator and CEO Craig Brace.
City of Mexico City Manager Bruce Slagle says the information from the study and the survey will be available shortly after the meeting for the public to digest.
“PDF copies of both the needs assessment report and the community survey will be made available on each member of the committee’s web sites,” Slagle said. “It’s our hope the public will see we took this task very seriously and have been very transparent with our process and findings.” The websites where the information will be located are www.audraincounty.org, www.mexicomissouri.net and www.myachd.org.
“We hope to have the information loaded onto the individual websites shortly after the meeting conclusion,” said Brace. “It probably will not be the night of the meeting but, the next day for the reports and information to appear.”
