Callaway County Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Trafficking Arrest and Seizure of Fentanyl
The following press release is from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office:
On December 4, 2024 at approximately 5:10pm deputies with the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of North Business 54 and US Highway 54 in Fulton. During the stop, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
As a result of the search, deputies recovered approximately 3.5 grams of fentanyl powder. A subsequent search warrant was executed at a hotel in Fulton, where deputies seized additional controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the operation by the MUSTANG Drug Task Force.
Following the investigation, the Callaway County Prosecutor’s Office filed formal charges against Demeka Galbreath, 46, of Fulton, on December 5, 2024.
Galbreath is charged with:
- Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Three counts of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
A judge denied bond for Galbreath.
