Mexico High School senior Hunter Bickell has signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic career at the collegiate level.
The signing ceremony took place at the Mexico High School Sports Complex on Wednesday, Apr. 24, 2025.
He will compete in cross country for William Woods University (WWU) in Fulton.
Bickell plans to major in Biology/Pre-Medicine, a decision influenced by his conversations with faculty and coaches at WWU.
“The talks I had with the coaches and science professors there proved that they would be capable of preparing me well for my intended path,” he said.
One of his favorite memories from MHS was basketball season this year, a time he looks back on with pride and gratitude.
When asked what advice he would give to future student-athletes who want to compete at the next level, he shared, “You have to be willing to work harder and suffer longer than your teammates and the people you’re competing against.”
Hunter is the son of Danny and Maria Bickell and has three siblings: Madison, Reid, and Max.
