Missouri Sales Tax Holiday Underway
The 2025 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday began this morning (8/1) and runs through Sunday, August 3. The sales tax holiday exempts all state and local sales, or use tax, taxes, during the exemption period on qualifying items.
Their is a slight change to this years tax holiday, as Senate Bill 153 expanded the savings by exempting all local sales and use tax on qualifying items.
Certain back-to-school purchases, such as clothing, school supplies, computers, and other items as defined by the statute, are exempt from sales tax for this weekend only.
- Clothing – any article having a taxable value of $100 or less
- School Supplies – not to exceed $50 per purchase
- Computer Software – taxable value of $350 or less
- Personal Computers – not exceed $1,500
- Computer Peripheral Devices – not to exceed $1,500
- Graphing Calculators – not to exceed $150
